In the process of "Kundalini energy" travelling along the different Human chakras, causes different levels of awakening and typical experiences, until it reaches the Sahasrara.
Reasons for symbolizing Kundalini energy as a Serpent
1. The way of serpent's crawling motion.
We feel the similar kind of the crawling experience, while the "Kundalini energy" passes along
2. The snake has no legs, yet moves.
Similarly, "Kundalini energy" has no medium to move, yet travels.
3. Serpent sits as a coil.
When "Kundalini energy" sleeps within us, it rests in the same way.
Whereas, when the snake gets up and raises, it slowly unwinds its coil. We too feel the same uncoiling kind of experience when "Kundalini" starts raising inside us.
Similarly, when the "Kundalini energy" reaches the Sahasrara chakra, it spreads on the top of the head like a broad hood of the serpent and becomes very narrow at the base.
Similarly, for the "kundalini energy" to wake up, no physical support is needed.
Similarly, when the "Kundalini" becomes fully awakened, it forms its own circuit. But the symbol "tail in the serpent mouth" represents the male spiritual practice ie; aggressiveness and the symbol "tail touching the serpent hood" represents the female spiritual practice ie; total surrender.
She who is coiled; serpent power.
" The primordial cosmic energy in every individual which eventually, through the practice of yoga, rises up the sushumnâ nâdî. As it rises, the kunalinî awakens each successive chakra. Nirvikalpa samâdhi, enlightenment, comes as it pierces through the door of Brahman at the core of the sahasrâra and enters!"
Similarly, we face a lot of trouble, if we disturb "Kundalini energy" in a wrong way.
Jesus said that..
"Be intelligent and clever like a snake and as pure as dove".
Similar in the case of the "Kundalini energy". We can reach the Ultimate heights of the wisdom through its swift and powerful energy.
Because of these similarities, apt and meaningful characteristics of the "Kundalini energy" with the "Serpent", people in the olden days chosen the Serpent as a symbolic representation of the Kundalini energy.
And also in those days people were very close to the animal kingdom, so they have chosen animals as symbolic representatives at those times.
