We show anger wantedly in some situations. Consider an example, if children put themselves in a dangerous condition then the mother gets angry at them and even shout at them. These are the kind of situations that authorize us to get anger. But just observe what is happening inside you, you may feel shaken inside. Are you really happy with the consequences and the words you have spoken in the anger or the decisions taken in that lower emotion ?
No right ! Because we will in total unawareness in that condition. But acting angry with complete awareness (example: a teacher shouts at students to control the class) is fine.
Live in the present moment to avoid anger
The mind always oscillates between the past and the future. When our mind is in the past, it is angry for certain things which we cannot change. When our mind is in the future, it is anxious for certain things which may or may not happen. When our mind is in the present, both the emotions anger and anxiousness seem to be utter waste and search for a solution. Because responding to a situation is wiser than reacting to it.

Let us see in detail :
For every swing in the mind, there is a matching swing in the breath. For every swing in the breath there is a matching emotion. So in case we directly can not handle our mind, we can handle through the breath.
Realizing this ultimate truth of self and being natural automatically avoids anger.
